Special Education and Legal Matters: the basics you need to learn.
Any child is legally entitled to a Free Adequate Public Education (FAPE). Federal and state law states under the Persons with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that students with disabilities and their families have fundamental educational rights as well as procedural protections or special needs.
The law provides personalized training, whether physical handicaps, learning disorders, mental or emotional disabilities, or sensory disability, in the least restrictive environment possible that meets the challenges of these students.
