In order to better understand and represent their consumers, businesses spend millions of dollars every year. Every investment either succeeds or fails at the moment they engage with a consumer.

Each touch is the Moment of Reality.

Mobile interactions are exponentially increasing and mobile experiences are becoming the most effective means of real-time immersive communication to deliver the Moment of Truth.

The number one rule in multi-channel interactions is to meet consumers where they are. This still includes social media, but most frequently now, it also involves text messages due to the pandemic.

69% of consumers would prefer to use their phones and then contact a store employee, but that's not the only time that customers prefer to communicate with retailers via mobile devices. Mobile communication has also become critical for contactless customer interactions, and retailers need to take note.

Smartphones have changed the way we do most things, not just talk. Over the past year:

To monitor their finances, 81 percent used a mobile device.

To make purchases online, 79 percent used a mobile device.

To control public service services, 32 percent used a mobile device.

What's more, 85% of mobile users prefer text calls, and 29% don't check for their voicemail messages. But 90 percent of individuals open text messages within a few minutes, meaning that retailers will key in on this influential channel when it comes to targeting potential customers.

For anything from restaurants to telehealth and traditional medicine, mobile communication is also used to set appointments, remind people of reservations, help people follow social distancing protocols, and more. Smartphones have been a lifeline throughout the pandemic, enabling individuals to continue to securely access resources.
