Imagine two websites with the same business line in the same geographic region and represent similar-size businesses. Both firms agree they are the other's chief competitor. Both businesses aim to raise sales by attracting new customers and both have agreed to meet that target by launching a website to make it easier for potential customers to find themselves.

The similitudes stop here. Company A agreed to employ a web development company to build and launch the platform. Company A has invested thousands of dollars in their online marketing campaign and their new website. This process has been going on for several months, and continues. In the near future, Company A should expect to pay monthly fees even with little to no immediate return on that investment.
