Following the nuclear catastrophe in Fukushima in Japan in 2011, the most serious nuclear accident since Chernobyl, many nations have reiterated their goal of weaning off the source of energy.
But that opinion is anything but universal — nuclear power is still ramping up in many other parts of the world, and for decades to come it is expected to be a crucial source of energy.
