When it comes to attracting multinational businesses to deliberately move their income from their home, high-tax nations, it is not known to do so anywhere in the world at such scale as Ireland. Tech giants Apple, Google, Facebook all take advantage of favorable conditions in the country, booking tens of billions of dollars in revenue each year collectively. It resulted in revenues of $126.2 billion in 2017 and a net tax income of $6.2 billion for Ireland-67 percent of all corporate tax receipts.

The researchers report that approximately 40 per cent of all corporate income are transferred annually to tax havens. Although the countries listed in this chart are the beneficiaries of this corporate conduct, for so-called 'high-tax' countries it contributed to more than $700 billion in lost income. The most severe hit in 2017 was Germany, where 26 per cent of corporate tax revenue was moved outside its borders. Similarly, although the United States lost 19 per cent, the United Kingdom lost 25 per cent.
