One group of people most affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic is the refugee and displaced population of the world.

There are about 25 million refugees worldwide, facing unprecedented challenges in access to housing, government aid, and health services.

We reviewed the data to help paint a more accurate image of the impact on the refugee crisis that COVID-19 has had.

There are estimated around 70.8 million forcibly displaced people worldwide. Twenty-five million are refugees.

Due to war and persecution 37,000 people are forced to leave their homes each day. For the context, from 1986 to 2011, Oprah Winfrey interviewed about 37,000 people on her talk show.

57% of the world's refugees are from three countries only: Syria, Afghanistan and South Sudan.

The number of people displaced around the world in the last 20 years has more than doubled, and the trend is set to continue.
