WhatsApp Now has 2 trillion active users #Article

WhatsApp has reached 2bn active users every month.

WhatsApp shared the news saying, "We're excited to share that as of today WhatsApp supports more than two billion users worldwide. Moms and fathers can reach their loved ones wherever they are. Brothers and sisters can share important moments. Coworkers can work together and businesses can grow by easily connecting with their customers.

WhatsApp had crossed 1.5 billion users back in 2018 and in just two years it has hit the 2 billion mark and is expected to continue to expand in the coming days. And although Facebook has a stronghold especially in India, WhatsApp on these grounds is gaining traction.

WhatsApp is considered for business use but faces several obstacles in that regard. Recently, the Facebook-owned app backed the concept of integrating ads into its posts, which was a crucial monetization strategy. Facebook also seems to be growing into eCommerce by purchasing eCommerce sites and services that communicate with customers via WhatsApp.

If Facebook can get more shopping in developing regions and place WhatsApp at the core, such as integrating funds transfer by charging WhatsApp, the application will generate more revenue.

Facebook has been plagued by privacy issues and several questions have raised that if Facebook moves towards WhatsApp monetization, WhatsApp's data-protection measures including end-to - end encryption may be compromised.

While we're uncertain about what Facebook has in store for WhatsApp when it comes to business, we can say for sure it looks like a much larger platform with more opportunities coming up.
