N horror movies and TV shows, we've seen some really scream-worthy scenes in the basements. We saw proprietors using their basements for awful activities. The basement itself is nasty, at times. Many times, there is a mysterious thing in the cellar, like a doorway to another world. Perhaps the most dangerous thing in your real-world basement is unresolved foundation issues. In movies and on television, though, we are generally terrified at something else.
