The new Climate Institute and the German Climate Action Network issue the Climate Change Efficiency Index 2020. This research evaluated the climate change policies in 57 countries and examined their programs on emissions, power use and renewable energy.

The study list Portugal and Finland as the most developed countries for climate change, while Australia has the worst outcome at the other end of the spectrum. According to the report, the Government of Morrison has become a regressive force globally.

The critics also contend that President Trumper, who pulled his country out of the Paris agreement, is now returning to the United States. The agreement of Paris is aimed at reducing global warming and other greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. 196 countries and the European Union signed the Paris Agreement in 2019.
