Forex traders are entitled to use which site to sell. This option is therefore interlinked with Forex broker preference, as not every type of trading platform is offered by each broker. Additionally, some brokers do not have complete compatibility with some Forex trading sites, but provide access through a bridge, which is a piece of software that links a Forex broker's dealing system to the network. This can operate satisfactorily but if the bridge malfunctions or is late, it can adversely affect trade execution and management.

The Metatrader 4 trading platform is very well known and undoubtedly set industry standard. I've never seen a Forex broker offering trading either directly across the exchange or through an in-house bridge to the market, but this could be at the cost of a slightly higher spread and/or fee. While developed by the same company (the Cyprus-based MetaQuotes Software Corporation), the Metatrader 5 trading platform is much less commonly available. We need to look at the process more closely to understand why that's the case. See our Top MT4 Forex broker list & feedback.
