In 2018, Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Google became known as FAAMG: 5 tech companies whose earned revenue contributes to 68 percent of US GDP growth. As FAAMG grows, concerns about privacy regulations and antitrust regulations have increased. In fact, 2 in 3 Americans support the "Big Tech Breakup" regardless of political party, but FAAMG services are used by far more than half of Americans. 7 out of 10 have a Facebook account, 9 out of 10 use Google Search, 2 out of 3 orders from Amazon;

Additionally, concerns were raised about Big Tech violating freedom of speech. In March 2019 Elizabeth Warren launched a campaign ad in favor of the dissolution of Big Tech. Facebook removed her ad and ignited bipartisan outrage. On the subject, Elizabeth Warren: "Curious why do I think FB has too much power? Let's start with their ability to shut down a discussion on whether Facebook has too much influence."
