But with some towns starting to privatize their US parking meters, will that money continue to benefit the public? This infographic of TopViewNYC.com ranks twenty-five major U.S. cities on how much income they earn from parking tickets per capita.

Chicago is one of the cities that has begun privatizing its parking meters and showing the most expensive meters in the country with a top-ranking income of $97.20 per capita. Phoenix, AZ, has more than enough parking spaces for visitors on the other end of the spectrum and the town receives just $0.55 in income for each citizen.

You can think of New York City though when you think of parking nightmare. But the Big Apple's many carless residents helped keep the cost of per capita income down slightly at $63.20. How much revenue does your town earn from parking tickets?
